Before we talk about Exeter Malayalee Association, a small introduction about a very small state located to the south west peninsular of India is worthwhile. Popularly known as "The Gods own country", off late, the paradise of ultimate tourist destination, Kerala is a wonder land of surprisingly diverse geographic topologies. With one side of the state border marked by the "Arabian sea" and the other boarder stretched by mountain ranges of the "Sahya".
Unity in diversity is the key factor of co-existence among the socially and culturally forward-thinking society of Kerala. Religiously tolerant people live in complete harmony with their neighbours and they help each other with unbelievable social cohesion to face each and every hurdles of day to day life.
Exeter Malayalee Association is formed by the natives from kerala State living in and around Exeter, Devon. An increasing number of Keralites, alternatively known as "Malayalees" have moved into the UK taking advantage of shortage in medical professions such as Nursing. The Nurses from Kerala are highly trained, qualified, experienced and motivated to undertake the challenging tasks of Medical Care.
The malayalee community in general are proud to lead a family oriented cohesive life. Generally, all the adult members of the family earn for their family and are very hard working. In the very short span of time, the malayalee community have compelled the UK employers and their management to rethink about the way they looked at migrant workers.
